I agree with Emma Sullivan, Sam Brownback really does suck. But, Emma tweets, which does not give her the opportunity to really describe the extent to which Brownback sucks...so in honor of Emma I have created a blog to really describe in detail the many ways Sam Brownback sucks.

If you do not know who Emma Sullivan is, let me explain...she is a Kansas high school senior who tweeted her opinion that Brownback sucks...the Brownback administration actually took the time to contact her high school to complain. Apparently, they "monitor" the Internet for posts written about the furor...I mean Brownback. If the thought police dont like what you say, they will tell your principal, your boss, maybe even your mommy. Really gives some teeth to that whole "Brownshirt" thing we have been saying all along.

I cannot possibly blog in one day all the ways in which Brownback sucks...so let's just take it one topic at a time....

education...
Hmmm..talk about reinventing the wheel...Brownback wants to take us back to the days where education was supported largely in part by localities. But he has forgotten the lessons learned....remember urban flight? This plan will cause those in inner city schools and neighborhoods, that people have worked so hard to rebuild, to flee to the better funded suburb schools. You will destroy your neighborhoods and its schools. Poor tax bases will have poor schools.

By the way, this new "grant" system Brownback supports seems like a sneaky way to fund private schools. Who needs vouchers? Brownback will just give you a "grant". Maybe Kansas could take this opportunity to destroy public schools to the extent that we will have to fund and attend private schools like in New Orleans and other large cities.

And guess what Brownback...raising taxes locally to pay for schools is still a tax increase. Do you really think we are so stupid we will give you credit for lowering our taxes when they actually increased? Unless you think voters wont vote to increase taxes to pay for schools....and if you think that, it just proves my point that you are trying to destroy the public school system.

Sam Brownback sucks because he just doesn't get it...you want to attracted businesses to Kansas? Have a great school system...and fine arts....but wait, we will talk about that another day...
